Jason: Hello and welcome to the Tantra for Gay Men podcast, hosted by Jason and Ingo Tantra. Here we’re exploring spirituality and personal growth through the practice of Tantra, energy, and sex. Hello, Ingo!

Ingo: Hello, Jason. Welcome to episode 24 of the Tantra for Gay Men podcast! Can you believe we are just two episodes short of our first-year anniversary?

Jason: I can’t believe it.

Ingo: It’s incredible. It has been quite a journey, hasn’t it?

Jason: It really has. I’m just slopping over my earpieces as I’m talking.

Ingo: Yes, and we’ve recorded in many beautiful locations—though I won’t repeat them since we talked about that last time. At the moment, it’s shortly before Christmas 2024, and we are in Spain. Soon, we’re heading back to England and Germany to spend Christmas with our respective parents.

Jason: And then we’re running!

Ingo: Yes, running back to our winter residence in sunny Thailand.

Jason: You know, I just realized, oh my God, what a year. We’ve had a really full-on year with amazing retreats, festivals, and brilliant weekends.

Ingo: I’ve loved everything we’ve offered this year, and I’ve loved what the podcast has brought to people. Sometimes we ask ourselves, “Does anyone listen to the podcast?” But then, in every booking or email, people tell us, “I found you through your podcast.” It’s amazing.

Jason: Yes! I can’t believe it sometimes. I’m just sharing my experiences and lessons from 19 years on my spiritual journey, and many of you, dear listeners, seem to enjoy it. Part of me is still like, “Why would anyone listen to this?”

Ingo: They’re listening to your pearls of wisdom!

Jason: Oh my God, is this the only gay Tantra podcast out there? Our friend Brad Amberhart has a podcast, but I think ours is different.

Ingo: Yes, it’s unique. For me, I perceive myself as normal, but when people come to study with us, I realize not everyone experiences the world the way we do.

Jason: That could be another podcast title: “I Think I’m Normal, What the Hell Do I Do?” But seriously, Tantra has completely transformed our lives. For me, it feels like the most effective practice for a spiritual journey—quicker, sharper, and more pleasurable. It’s full of joy, love, and juicy feelings because it engages sexual energy, the most powerful energy we have.

Ingo: Yes, and when you harness that energy, it can be so strong and transformative.

Topic Introduction

Jason: So, let’s dive into today’s episode: “Should I Say Yes to Everything? Exploring Boundaries in Sacred Sexual Intimacy.”

Ingo: This question references concerns we often hear: “If I join a Tantra workshop or ritual, do I have to do everything? Do I have to do things I’m uncomfortable with or with people I don’t want to?”

Jason: Exactly. People worry about being paired with partners they’re not attracted to or about overriding their boundaries. These fears often come from experiences of being taken advantage of or feeling unsafe.

Ingo: For many, the only frame of reference for sex is through apps like Grindr, bars, or long-term relationships. These experiences can leave people feeling empty and searching for something deeper.

Jason: Yes, they’re seeking better-quality connections. Some come to Tantra looking for a partner, while others want more conscious sexuality. Conscious sexuality focuses on better sex, but Tantra goes further by turning these experiences into a spiritual journey of awakening and enlightenment.

Exploring Consent and Boundaries

Jason: Let’s address the question head-on: Do I have to do everything? The first answer is a resounding no.

Ingo: Exactly. Consent is key. As we say in every workshop, “You do not have to do anything you don’t want to do.” The foundational ethic is to do no harm—to yourself or others.

Jason: Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent has been instrumental in helping people understand boundaries. It’s about recognizing whether you’re truly giving or receiving and becoming aware of feelings like exploitation or discomfort.

Ingo: Practicing consent is empowering. Learning to say no deepens intimacy and gives you a sense of safety. It’s a crucial first step on the Tantra journey.

Beyond Preferences

Jason: Tantra also challenges us to move beyond superficial preferences. In our workshops, we see men learning to connect on a deeper level, regardless of physical appearance.

Ingo: Yes, it’s about letting go of attachments to how someone looks and discovering the joy of connecting energetically and emotionally.

Jason: The more you practice, the more you tune into your inner truth. Over time, this self-awareness transforms how you relate to others and yourself, opening doors to profound intimacy and joy.

Ingo: This has been such a rich discussion. Thank you for joining us, dear listeners. If you’re curious to learn more, check out our upcoming 2025 program, packed with workshops and retreats.

Jason: Thank you, Ingo. And thank you, listeners. Join us next time for Episode 25! Lots of love.

Ingo: Lots of love. Bye!

Jason: Bye!
